Australian Volcanic Rockers Valhalla Lights released their debut album "My Gracious Highway"last month in North America. "My Gracious Highway" is available for purchase HERE.
So far, the press reaction has been nothing short of amazing:
Valhalla Lights latest album My Gracious Highway is a dose of stratospheric, cosmic hard rock n' roll of epic proportions. With vocals rooted in psych rock ala Purson and music rooted in the cosmic sounds of bands like Captain Beyond and Monster Magnet, Valhalla Lights has created an album with enough groove to shift the planets completely out of orbit. Strap in tight because this is without a doubt going to be a liftoff of NASA proportions.
-Don de Leaumont, The Great Southern Brainfart-
My Gracious Highway is an excellent hard rock/traditional metal album, featuring plenty of massive riffs, driving rhythms and tender ballads, all anchored by Saul's amazing vocals. Whether it's the anthemic "Rise Above" or the touching "The One," Valhalla Lights have a leading contender for hard rock album of the year on their hands.
-Heavy Music HQ-
The riffs are definitely packed full of the hip-swinging sass
The album roars out of the gate with "Rise Above" - a no-nonsense stomper with a lead riff that cannot fail to grab your attention
It's a crisp 13-track/45-minute long-player, marked by solid songcraft and the forward performance of vocalist Ange Saul.
A completely solid album from start to finish exploring all side of Heavy Rock And Roll while putting their own tinges to the music.
-That Drummer Guy-
Heavy riffs and soaring vocals
-Metal Heads Forever-
Today the band is also pleased to share two new videos from their album for the songs:
Valhalla Lights hail from the beautiful township of Byron Bay on the East Coast of Australia, a small surfing community and a place that is at the center of an extinct volcano and is known for its natural fresh air, stunning beaches, rich volcanic soil and dramatic landscape that has been gouged out by hot molten lava...
For more on Valhalla Lights, check out the amazing documentary, "Shades of Black" - the Valhalla Lights Story (2015) - was a finalist at the Salt Lake International Film Festival, and tells the story surrounding the tragic death of Valhalla Lights'first vocalist, Phoebe Black, and how the band posthumously recorded their debut album, "Krypton" (2015) after the vocalist's death. The documentary sets the scene of how Ange Saul joins the band and starts working on the bands second album, "My Gracious Highway"(2018). This documentary is a must watch, it is brutally heavy, extremely intense, tragically sad and shows the dedication that this band have to honoring a fallen bandmate, and the determination they have to carrying on the Valhalla Lights music.
Valhalla Lights... are Ange Saul (vocals), George Christie (guitar), Brent "Badger" Crysell (bass) Deon Driver (drums).
